Commercial Exhibits

The 2009 national festival, AACTFest '09 - Tacoma, June 23 – 27, will be the first time in twenty-five years that a major national community theatre event has been held on the west coast. In celebration of this event, festival organizers plan on gathering an unprecedented variety of industry resources together to share, not just with theatre enthusiasts from the Pacific Northwest, with colleagues across the country.

For more information, please download our Commercial Exhibition brochure.

Design Exhibits

A feature for AACTFest '09 is the Design Exhibition and Competition. To enter, please download our entry form.

AACT Management Conference

Open to all who "run things" at the theatre!

The Community Theatre Management Conference will be held in conjunction with AACTFest '09 Tacoma. This gathering is for anyone with responsibility for managing a community theatre and brings together administrators from all levels of a vocational theatre. From the volunteer who "runs things around here" to the "just starting" part-time employee to the full time professional manager. all are welcome and will participate at their level of experience.

The Community Theatre Management Conference (CTMC) is modeled after the famous National Full Time Theatre Directors Conference (i.e., the "Madison Conference"). Learning will be through a series of intensive topic specific round table discussions where the idea is to share experiences, problems, and solutions. Participants will select the topics through a pre-conference questionnaire.

Because the CTMC will be held immediately preceding AACTFest'09 Tacoma, participants may attend two events in one trip. It is possible that you could go home with an idea that would pay for your experience, a renewed enthusiasm for your theatre management job and a nationwide network of colleagues.

For more information, please download our Technical Conference brochure.

Volunteer for AACTFest

The festival will require help from many dedicated folks. If you are interested in volunteering, or want more information, please visit our Volunteer Opportunities page.

Local Theatre Companies: We are looking for individuals from local groups who can serve as hosts for the twelve theatre companies participating in the festival. This is a great opportunity to meet new theatre folks from all over the nation (and the world in some cases) and expose them to Tacoma's own theatre scene. If you would like to host a visiting theatre company, use the volunteer form to let us know.
